Disabling Fingerfox window transparency

Is it possible to disable the window transparency of the Fingerfox (SE) window entirely? The window contents are illegible when it's transparent and I would prefer a solid window.

I realize the window becomes solid when mousing over it, but that requires the extra step of mousing over the window, and the point of Fingerfox (and fingerprint readers) is obviously to make the login process as quick and easy as possible.

Thanks.

This isn't a problem for me.
The transparency does not have influence in the way the fingerprint reader software recognizes it. Only if 100% transparent.

I could implement that feature, but it shouldn't be necessary.

Are you using DigitalPersona 2.0 and the MS Fingerprint reader (not built-in)?

I'm not sure I understand your response. To clarify, I would prefer if the Fingerfox window were always solid, not "see through". With the original Fingerfox it was possible to use the mouse wheel to adjust the transparency of the Fingerfox window.

I am using Digital Persona 2.0 with a USB MS Fingerprint Reader under Windows Vista.

You wrote ("The window contents are illegible when it's transparent")
I thought that what you were trying to explain, was that digitalpersona did not recognize the contents of the window. It should.

If you are just saying that YOU can't really see it when transparent, it's a different problem ;)

Well, if that is the case, I still could implement that as a feature.
However I don't see why.
You need to see the window content only the first time you enter your details, the next time you don't need to see the content off the window, just press the fingerprint reader...

Correct, it's just me who can't read what the window says. :)

It's a personal preference -- I find it distracting that my eye is tempted to try to read what's in the window, and since the content underneath shows through it's not legible. Being transparent also makes it impossible to tell at a glance whether the Fingerfox window has focus or not (sometimes I'm in the process of clicking something else when a web site is loading up).

I agree that you shouldn't normally need to worry about what's in the window after the first time a login is set up. But I would find it less distracting if it were a normal solid window instead of "half visible." I assume others might have a similar feeling, hence the transparency setting in the original Fingerfox.

Anyway, certainly not a critical bug fix, but I wanted to request the option if it's easy enough to implement. Thanks again for all your hard work.

It is easy to implement, and I will consider doing it.

It might be implemented in the fingerfox update when firefox 3 is released.

Hi,Any further updates on this thread? Hope to see more replies one of these days, especially feedbacks from the thread starter. Seems like this thread has been inactive for such a time. Think topic should be closed.

This feature will implemented in future releases. I have many projects at this time, so I cannot tell you any release date.
