Hello,

First of all, thank you for fingerfox.

Fingerfox was running without any problem since yesterday. Yesterday, it suddenly stopped working and now all I get is "No connection to the Fingerfox (SE) loginwindow. Maybe the application did not manage to startup in time, try again. The problem will also occur, if you haven't installed .NET Framework. For more information, visit Fingerfox (SE) website. - www.fingerfox.amews.net/index_en.php".

I didn't upgrade or install/uninstall any programs or Framework.

What should I do?

I'm a Vista Home Premium user with SP! and all the upgrades.

I would like you to answer those things:

1. Open Process List (Ctrl+Alt+Delete -> Processes). Order by name. Now activate fingerfox, and look for Fingerfox (SE).exe in the list. Do you see it? Does it go away? How quickly?

2. Rightclick fingerfox icon, select "change portsettings". Click automatic, now try to use fingerfox again.

3. If still a problem, can I contact you by email/msn/skype or the like? Is the email you use the one you registered with on this forum?

It is working now, I've reinstalled windows and all my programs. If I experience same problem again, I'll let you know.

My guess is that the change portsettings would have worked. And now after you reinstalled, it automatically searched for different ports on first run.

The automatic port setting change didn't work for me. The same error comes up. Please any other suggestions?

It has stopped working for me, too some days ago.

I get the same error message : No connection to the Fingerfox (SE) loginwindow. Maybe the application did not manage to startup in time, etc.

Changing the ports didn't help.
I guess it has to do with a firefox add-on update, but I don't know which one.

Thanks for your response.

Yes, fingerfox does appear in the processes list for about 3-4 seconds and then it goes away, displaying the message mentioned before.

You can contact me at the email I used to register with this forum.

For me the answer is the same as Apostolis.
Fingerfox has worked fine for many months with various computers and configs.

I highly suspect a windows update to be responsible but I don't know which one, as quite a few have been coming in over the past few weeks and is the only installation/changes that were made to my pc.

Thank you,

I will contact some of you.
I can't really say when. Quite busy working on a new website and studying. At best I will contact you in the weekend. Otherwise within a couple of weeks.
I apologize you have to wait, but I hope you understand. :)

PS: I doubt that windows updates is the issue alone, since my system is also Vista SP1 fully updated.

Hello.

I've tried changing ports before reinstalling Windows, it didn't help. I also use Windows Vista SP1 fully updated.
